Colonial "Buck" Fence:

New "Buck Style" Fence Constructed by Jason Kleckner: In 2014 Jason Kleckner Jr. approached The Friends of the 1803 House, to propose a community service project to satisfy requirements for the Eagle Scout rank. The west property line (along the railroad tracks) is now protected with an historic “Buck Style” fence. Colonial Brick Path:

New "Colonial Brick Path":  In 2013 Sawyer Long approached the Friends of the 1803 house, to complete a community service project to satisfy one of the requirements for the Eagle Scout rank.  Sawyer constructed a brick walk according to the plans and details prepared by the 1803 House Architectural Committee.  He appealed for donations of material, equipment, personnel and volunteers.  With expertise of his coaches and volunteers, Sawyer supervised the installation of a permanent curvilinear brick path.  Thank You Sawyer!   Sawyer Long Construct Brick Walk;  East Penn Press ArticleFor complete published articles Go to Resources

  

5th graders Build an Herb Garden:

Building an Herb Garden...In 2013 the Seven Generations Charter School 5th grade  students designed and built a raised herb garden. They researched the best location on the 1803 House property and planted herbs from the 1800s. For complete published articles Go to Resources;

The 1803 House offers Educational Programs. A nominal fee is required.  We currently have an educational partnership with nearby Seven Generations Charter School and local school districts.
